Are You On The List?
30,000 in 3 years. That's the goal Young Democrats of Georgia has set for ourselves. What are these 30K you might ask? We're on a statewide mission to locate 30,000 new young people ages 18-39 who are not currently voting. We're going to target, locate, educate and motivate these 30,000 young people into voting and voting for Democrats by the end of 2010. Who are these 30,000 people you might ask? Are you one of them? They could be your friends, roomates, family members, co-workers. Stay tuned...
Kennesaw & Georgia State Pulling New YDs
Young Democrats of Georgia Chapters at both Kennesaw State University and Georgia State University held tabling events this week to signup new Young Democrats for their respective chapters. Congrats to Caroline & Jason at KSU and Zach & Luisa at Georgia State and all their hard-working members for reaching out to their fellow students and getting them involved.
Did your chapter host a Back-To-School event? Send pictures and/or story to me at tim@georgiayds.org for our blog at www.georgiayds.org.
YD-iDol: YDs Stretch Their Vocal Cords To Raise Money for YDG
A big thank you to Young Democrats of Georgia and our friends from Young Democrats of Tennesee who all pitched in at the recent Young Democrats of Georgia Karaoke Fundraiser in East Atlanta: YD-iDol on August 20th.
We had a number of special guests including Alexandra Acker, Young Democrats of America Executive Director, and Christ Anderson, Executive Vice President for Young Democrats of America, as well as our friends Phillip and Lindsay from YD Tennesee who joined about thirty Young Democrats of Georgia members and supporters to sing our hearts out and raise some cash for YDG.
Chris Anderson was the lucky winner of our contest to sing the Worst Karaoke Song Ever as determined by the online poll at www.georgiayds.org. Thanks Chris for giving "My Heart Will Go On" your best!
