ATLANTA (June 11, 2008)-Six members of the Young Democrats of Georgia will be attending the National Democratic Convention in Denver on August 25-28, 2008.
Jane Bradshaw - At Large Delegate
Chad Brock - At Large Delegate
Brian Peterson - At Large Delegate Alternate
Emily Schunior - At Large Delegate
Angela Trigg – District 5
Nikema Williams –At Large Delegate
At large delegate, Jane Bradshaw has been a member of Young Democrats for two years.
“I am looking forward to meeting other fair-minded democrats, energizing the party and the country and nominating the first non-white male,” said Bradshaw.
Jason Cecil, Young Democrats of Georgia President, said this year’s convention has more young people attending than in years past. He is hoping the momentum from the democratic primary will spill into the party’s goal of registering 30,000 young people to vote over the next three years.
“The electricity and excitement over this year's presidential election will help YDG with not only registering people to vote, but getting them to pledge to vote Democratic in November,” said Cecil. “Our pledge to vote program will go a long way to reminding young people when to vote and making sure they do not forget or get too busy. “
