Congratulations, America! We are on our way to having better health care available! History was made on Sunday, March 21, 2010, when shortly before midnight, the announcement was made that the bill had passed with a little more than the 216 votes it needed.
Today, President Barack Obama, signed it into law.
So many of you, worked hard to achieve this, and many thanks are owed to you for your tireless efforts. But it's not over yet... There's still a lot of work that lies ahead. Many opportunities for you to get involved and continue to make a difference.
Last week, I was in DC with 3 of my fellow YDG colleagues. A couple of us took part in the HRC Rally to Repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell, and then marched to the protest at the White House, led by Lt. Dan Choi.
Our group stopped by for a pic at the White House before leaving on the morning of historical, March 21, 2010. We got there just as many protestors were arriving for the big rally on immigration.
Health Care Reform, Equal Rights, and Immigration are but a few of the many issues that need to be addressed in our country. Whatever it is that calls to you, to speak out and get involved, know that you don't have to do it alone. YDG will help you!
